Dr. Ximena Velasquez-Pierce
Your Venice DentistDr. Ximena Velasquez-Pierce was born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. In 1993, she received her dental degree, graduating with honors from El Bosque University. After receiving her dental degree, Dr. Ximena Velasquez-Pierce practiced general dentistry in Bogotá until 2001, when she decided to return to school and receive her degree in orthodontics. In 2006, Dr. Velasquez-Pierce also received her Master’s degree in Public Health.In 2009, Dr. Velasquez-Pierce moved to the United States, where she was accepted to the University of Rochester Eastman Dental Clinic and completed her 2-year residency program. During her residency, Dr. Velasquez-Pierce was one of four dentists recognized in her program as having exceptional clinical abilities. Also during her residency, Dr. Velasquez-Pierce co-authored a research article that was published in a New York dental journal. In 2015, she moved to Florida, where she received her license to practice dentistry. In November 2016, Dr. Velasquez-Pierce bought her own practice and continues to help her patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles.Continuing education and staying up-to-date in the latest dental techniques is one of Dr. Velasquez-Pierce’s highest priorities. By knowing and using the latest dental treatments and technology, she can ensure that her patients receive the best care possible. She constantly is attending continuing educations courses. Dr. Velasquez-Pierce is a member of the American Dental Association, Southwest Florida Dental Association, and the Hispanic Dental Association.Dr. Velasquez-Pierce and her husband, Charles, have been married since 2008. In her free time, Dr. Velasquez-Pierce enjoys golfing, traveling, and going to the beach.
Dr. Laura De Pena
Dr Laura De Pena was born in Madrid, Spain in the time where her father was doing a medical specialty in 1978. At the age of 3, the family returned to their native Dominican Republic. In 2003 Dr. De Pena received her Doctor in Dental Surgery Degree (DDS) at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena (UNPHU) in The Dominican Republic. After graduation, lived for one year in Buenos Aires, Argentina and completed a Program in General Dentistry and Prosthetics. For four years Dr. De Pena practiced General Dentistry in Santo Domingo. In 2008, she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, worked as a Dental Assistant at Nova Southeastern University while preparing for the International Dental Program. In 2010 joined the 3-year International Dental Graduate Program, (IDG Program) at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. This was an opportunity to add on to Dr. De Pena’s resume the highest level of education in the field of Dentistry and graduated in 2013 with special mentions. She has been working as a General Dentist in the Miami, Florida area till the end of December 2019 when decided to move to Venice, Florida and join the prestigious practice with Dr Ximena Velasquez-Pierce. Dr De Pena married Juan Campos in 2016 and has a wonderful and happy two year old boy, Nicolas. They love the beach and going to different children’s activities. Dr. De Pena particularly likes yoga and enjoys the practice of meditation at the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University. Caring for each patient’s individual needs and providing the best and high quality care is Dr De Pena’s first priority. Continuing education and being up to date with the latest technological advances in the field of dentistry contribute to achieve this important goal.
